What is CBD?
Cannabidiol, more commonly known by its abbreviation CBD, is a botanical supplement extracted from the cannabis plant – typically, cannabis ruderalis, which is commonly known as industrial hemp. CBD is known to have many medicinal properties, one of which is in the treatment of PTSD.
Because cannabis ruderalis does not typically attract insects, most hemp is grown without the use of heavy pesticides. While this is said, it’s important to choose a CBD vendor who provides test results either on-site or per request not only for bacterial contamination, but for use of heavy pesticides as well!
Is CBD Safe?
CBD is completely and totally safe. There have not been any reported deaths from use of any cannabis product, and this includes CBD oils, topicals, edibles, et cetera. It is also safe for children of all ages as well as your furry friends, too! As CBD does not produce a “high” like THC, you don’t have to worry about getting too high and freaking out.
How is CBD Made?
CBD is typically extracted from the cannabis ruderalis plant, otherwise known as Industrial-Grade Hemp. It is typically extracted from the stalks and leaves, as they contain the highest concentration of cannabinoids such as CBD. There are multiple ways they go about doing this extraction, however, the gold-standard is considered to be the “supercritical” CO2 extraction, where the plant material is put under high pressure and low tempurature to maintain the integrity of, as well as isolate, the cannabinoids, including CBD.
Is CBD Safe?
CBD is very safe and has no reported deaths. Negative interactions with medications are extremely rare and not fatal. CBD is even safe for your children and furry friends! However, I would like to highly recommend that you go with a CBD vendor that has independent third-party testing for adulterants and contaminants to ensure your safety. This may cause the product to cost more, but can you really put a price tag on your health?
CBD: A Natural Remedy for Back Pain
I personally use CBD as a natural remedy for my chronic back pain. For me, it doesn’t completely eliminate my pain, however, it does reduce it by 80% or more (depending on how severe my symptoms are that day). I highly recommend that people try CBD for their back pain as well, but make sure you get a decent dosage (10-30mg per dose) to ensure that you’re getting enough CBD in each dose to actually treat your pain.
Is CBD Right for Me?
If you’ve been on the search for a natural, safe, effective treatment for your back pain, look no further! CBD is one of the best natural remedies for back pain that I’ve found – and I’ve tried a lot, and I’m sure you have too. There are many different forms that CBD comes in – topicals, edibles, oils, tinctures, isolate, etc. So no matter what you’re going to be able to find a way to take it that works for you!
